Action plan

Current Situation

At current I am inexperienced in the world of Bachelor life. I have never used bluej or zoho (online project management tool) & never studied Programming language Java which is frightening, but my general computer skills are good so I am hoping to be able to pick things up quickly. My knowledge on the subjects at this point is OK but there’s a lot of improvement to be made, my weakest area at this point in my life is confidence, I have not much experience of meeting new people and giving presentation in front of them. This is something which I hope my time in Islington will improve.

Ideal Situation

To be in control of my life,

To achieve the best grades that I can,

To be confident in myself & everything that I do,

To be one step ahead when it comes to projects, researching and general tasks,

To have close friends and enjoy file.

Steps to success

·         Spend time at College getting to know the software I am unfamiliar with.

·         Keep a realistic timetable to allow me to put the needed amount of work into all of my projects

·         Complete tasks when they are set and not leave everything until the last minute

·         Believe in myself, gain confidence in talking to people I don’t know

·         Find a manageable balance between my study and my social life to enjoy myself as well as work hard

Hope this action plan may help me to visualize my own strengths and weakness and how I can make the most out myself, also allowed me to set targets to help me achieve my goals while at the College and in future life.

Skills Attributes & Employment Development

This is my third blog and I am discussing about the modules that I am currently studying in the first semester, what I am learning from these modules and how it is going to help in my career. Islington College gives an educational attributes on Computing, Networking & Multimedia. I have choose Computing and here I am studying four modules,

                         1.    Study Skills for Computing,

                         2.    Problem Solving for IT,

                        3.    Logic,

                       4.    Introduction to programming.

Study Skills for Computing: In this module, I am learning about how to develop my writing skills, giving presentations & handling group works.

Problem Solving for IT: In this module, I am learning how to solve logical questions, writing algorithms, drawing flowcharts, spreadsheets and databases.

Logic: In this module, I am studying computing mathematics like truth tables, Boolean algebra, logical gates, sets, binary number system etc.

Introduction to Programming: In this module, I am learning about Programming in Java.

                From these modules it will develop reflective learning and action planning through the Personal Development Planning process. It will provide an understanding of how problems can be solved systematically. I will be able to critically assess the quality of a software system and to implement a software system in Java.

To increase my basic fundamental skills, personals skills, thinking skills, through which I could develop appropriate attributes for employment and be able to take responsibility for my employ-ability through personal development planning. The modules have I chosen will help me to gain these abilities for my career.

Self-Assessment

As in my previous blog I have written basic detail about myself, my interests, what I want to be in future and why I study B.Sc. IT now this is my second blog, I am discussing about my main achievements on entry and what I’m expecting to learn during my case study on these three years.

Ø  My achievements: 

When I was in class eight I studied Computer related subject and I really enjoyed studying that. Since I have studied about computer from my school level, I have gained basic knowledge about Microsoft word, excel, Flowchart, Algorithm and simple web page designing on HTML.I have continued studying computer subject on my Higher Secondary Level. There I have gained knowledge about computer Operating system [OS], Database management system [DBMS], C++ etc. I have gained basic knowledge on Photoshop & Adobe Audition from my uncle. I know how to format, partition hard disk and boot computers, may this will help me in my further modules.

Ø  What I expect to learn during my case study:

 As you already know that I have joined Islington College for my Bachelor Degree in Computing and I am here to know everything in the field of computing, so that it will help me to be a good software developer. I have interest on android OS and its custom ROM, I hope after completing my Bachelor Degree I would be able to develop it of my own. I want to learn about web page designing on PHP, programming in .NET and java. I hope Islington College will help me to learn and do better in my future.

Hi there, I'm Prabhat and this blog is all About Me, so I have to say something about myself. Sometimes it is hard to introduce yourself because you know yourself so well that you do not know where to start with. Let me give a try to see what kind of image you have about me through my self-description. I hope that my impression about myself and your impression about me are not so diffrent.Here it goes.

I have completed my +2 from Orchid Science College, Bharatpur, Chitwan. My home town is in Damauli. I do many things must of them lame and boring but the thing I enjoy is knowing about Computers.I listen to a lot of music, but Six Feet Under , Guns n' Roses, Black Eyed peas, Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Katy Perry and LMFAO are never too far from any of my playlists. I also have interest  in android & i do have an android device ;-). I search many things about it and I have updated my android OS "Gingerbread v2.2" to "Jellybean v4.1".

I always wanted to develop programs so now I'm a fresher in Islington college for Bachelor Degree in "Computing".Since my childhood I have interest in Computers & IT world. I always wanted to know more & more about programming & software designing so I thought Islington College is best for me to study about computing. I haven't done any courses on computer but I have gain little knowledge in computers & programming from surfing internet, to gain more knowledge I have join this college. I want to be a software developer. I have interest on "Android OS","Windows" & "Mobile Apps".
