Skills Attributes & Employment Development


This is my third blog and I am discussing about the modules that I am currently studying in the first semester, what I am learning from these modules and how it is going to help in my career. Islington College gives an educational attributes on Computing, Networking & Multimedia. I have choose Computing and here I am studying four modules,
                         1.    Study Skills for Computing,
                         2.    Problem Solving for IT,
                        3.    Logic,
                       4.    Introduction to programming.

Study Skills for Computing: In this module, I am learning about how to develop my writing skills, giving presentations & handling group works.
Problem Solving for IT: In this module, I am learning how to solve logical questions, writing algorithms, drawing flowcharts, spreadsheets and databases.
Logic: In this module, I am studying computing mathematics like truth tables, Boolean algebra, logical gates, sets, binary number system etc.
Introduction to Programming: In this module, I am learning about Programming in Java.

                From these modules it will develop reflective learning and action planning through the Personal Development Planning process. It will provide an understanding of how problems can be solved systematically. I will be able to critically assess the quality of a software system and to implement a software system in Java.

To increase my basic fundamental skills, personals skills, thinking skills, through which I could develop appropriate attributes for employment and be able to take responsibility for my employ-ability through personal development planning. The modules have I chosen will help me to gain these abilities for my career.
